Thank You Lemons Tutorial:

Step 1. Create the Thank You Lemons card base.

To begin this Thank You Lemons card, I grabbed a lemon-yellow piece of cardstock and cut it to be 8.5 X 5.5 inches and scored it down the middle to create the card base.

Step 2. Create a white frame.

Next, I used Neenah Solar White cardstock to create the white border for the card. I really wanted a fun and easy border around the card. So I used the Lawn Fawn outside-in stitched rectangle stackables die set to create the frame. This set comes with four dies, so I use the largest rectangle (5.25 X 4 inches) to create the height and width of the frame. and the second to smallest rectangle (3.25 X 1 inch) to make the window for the lemon patterned cardstock.

Step 3. Trim the lemon patterned cardstock.

When it was time to cut the lemon card stock, I used my Fiskars bypass trimmer to cut the paper just a little wider than the window it would be showing in. It was about 2.5 X 3.75 inches in size. Then I flipped my frame over, took some regular clear scotch tape, and taped the lemon card stock to the back of the white frame. I then used Scrapbook Adhesive mounting squares to put the framed patterned cardstock on the card base.

Step 4. Create the Sentiment.

My next step was to create the sentiment. I have a simple thank you sentiment banner that I don’t use a lot because it doesn’t have a matching die, but I thought it would be perfect for this design. So, I grabbed my Misti stamping tool and stamped the thank you banner onto some Neenah Solar White cardstock. Also, I’ve been cleaning my stamps with the Lawn Fawn stamp shammy lately and I’m really liking it.

Step 5. Color the sentiment and put it on the Thank You Lemons Card

Once I was done cleaning off my stamp, I grabbed my Copic Y13 (Lemon Yellow) marker, and just colored in the border around the thank you card to give it a little extra pop. After that, I used my scissors to fussy cut around the banner. I placed some Craft Specialties foam tape on the back of the banner and finally placed it just a little lower than the center of the frame on the card.

Originally I also considered adding some Nuvo drops or rhinestones, but I decided not to because I just liked the clean look of the card as it is.
